The ICYC is the World Methodist Council’s oldest initiative for young adults. Begun in 1980, it is a partnership between the Division of World Evangelism and the Youth and Young Adult Committee. Its goal is to foster and stimulate evangelism among members of the Methodist/Wesleyan family ages 17-30.
Over its history, hundreds of persons around the world point to their participation in the ICYC as a “defining moments” in their faith. ICYC participants have become lay leaders and clergy leaders continuing to hold high the banner of John Wesley and the evangelistic spirit of the Methodist/Wesleyan movement.
Conferences have been held in in England, (1980), Bahamas (1983), Australia (1987), Mexico (1990), Germany (1994), USA (1998), Northern Ireland (2002), and Brazil (2005). The ninth ICYC was held in 2010 at Kwang Lim Vision Land in South Korea. Over 450 youth and young adults from 43 countries attended this dynamic and spirit-filled conference.
